WESTERN WASHINGTON PREMIER

BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION

General Information

After many great years as one of the Directors of the Western Washington Women's Basketball Association and the Northwest Select Basketball Association, Jerry Jones has moved on to create the Western Washington Premier Basketball Association (WWPBA).  The strongest features of those previous two leagues are retained in the new organization and we have added new features such as:

Our league is dedicated to providing the best venue for girls' basketball in Western Washington. Jerry Jones was an integral part of building those two above-mentioned organizations into prominent members of the local basketball community and brings the same energy and dedication to the WWPBA.

Will offer leagues in the fall, winter and spring for 5th grade through high school (in the winter, the high school "Silver" division is for 9th grade and stronger 8th grade teams).

We strive to put together the best officiating corps possible.  We pay top-dollar for our officials in order to attract the best available and have many officials who are considered some of the best in the state.

In order to allow as many young players to play as much ball as they can, we allow players to play for more than one team in our league.  We even allow players to play on more than one team in the same division during the regular season.  However, we have a couple of participation rules that coaches must consider:

1)  Players can play up a grade, but never down a grade.  Therefore, a team with all 7th graders and one 8th grader, must play in the 8th grade division (no exceptions).

2)  Players must play in at least three regular-season games with a particular team in order to play with that team during the league championship tournament.

3)  During the championship tournament, a player can play for only one team in a particular division, so if she has played for two 8th grade gold teams throughout the season, she has to chose which one she will play with during the championship tourney.  If a player has played on two teams in different  divisions, for instance a 6th grade team and a 7th grade team, and she has played in at least three regular season games for both, she is eligible to play for both teams in the championship tournament.

Last, but definitely not least, we put a special importance on good sportsmanship and maintaining a very positive atmosphere at our competition sites.  Inappropriate language or acts by anyone directed towards spectators, officials, players or coaches will not be tolerated.
