WWPBA 2011 Fall League
Championship Tourney (click here for fall tourney pictures) The league championship tourney produced some of the best games of the season. All of the teams competed with intensity and heart. Wolfpack Monten proved to be the cream of the crop in the 5th grade division capping an undefeated regular season with the tourney championship. They topped Newport 38-14 in the championship game. Newport beat EBC Elite 14-13 in a tight semi-final contest. EBC Elite beat Mukilteo 20-5 for 3rd place. The 6th grade division was filled with close games. In the first round, EBC Elite Blue got by Hoopaholics White 29-25; Mukilteo edged Newport 25-20; and Seattle Transition Sparks nudged Wolfpack Nygreen 35-33. In one of the semi-final games, Mukilteo just got by EBC Elite Blue 24-22. Seattle Transition Sparks won the championship game against Mukilteo 25-22. Bellevue took third place, beating EBC Elite Blue 33-19. ECBA White took the 7th grade championship with a 40-34 victory over Hoopaholics 7th Blue. Mukilteo beat Wolfpack 44-26 to take third place. In the 8th grade silver division, Wolfpack edged Mukilteo 43-39 in the semi-finals then lost in the championship game to a strong EBC Elite Blue squad 40-31. Pro Club Sparks topped Mukilteo 40-32 to take 3rd place. The ESA-Bulldogs kept getting stronger as the season went along and showed their strength during the tourney. They topped previously unbeaten Seattle Transition 53-29 in the 8th grade gold division championship game. Hoopaholics 7th White gave Seattle Transition quite a game in the semi-finals before falling 50-34. Hoopaholics 7th White went on to win the third place plaque by beating the Ballers 42-30. There were some good games in the high school division as well. In one semi-final game, Nathan Hale squeaked by Hoopaholics in sudden death double-overtime 55-53 on a spinning layup by Gabby Evans. In the championship game, Nathan Hale topped Kamiak Var 55-51 in a battle that was close from start to finish. In the second round, Hoopaholics edged Kamiak JV 40-37 and then went on to take third place with a 54-34 victory over EBC Elite Blue.
